Smart Place is an initiative launched by BCP (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole) council in UK to improve lives throughout their community. They are addressing the biggest challenges across society by developing technological solutions for:

  • health & social care
  • mobility & the environment
  • industry & logistics
  • and other sectors across their area

In this context, Sis.Ter became partner of the Smart Place R&D (Research and Development) Consortium. The R&D Consortium is about bringing together organizations with problems to be solved and technology companies who can develop and implement the most innovative solutions.
This community is working together to deliver pilot projects and solve real challenges with highly innovative technologies. Through the consortium, the council is enabling and supporting the digital technologies adoption in the BCP Council area.
Within the Lansdowne area, they are creating the UK’s first open innovation ecosystem using a full 5G platform. They are also rolling out free public wi-fi and other digital networks to test applications such as real-time air quality monitoring, augmented and virtual reality, and even robotics.
BCP council have recently opened first open challenges to solve and Sis.Ter is putting its skills and know-how on this effort to design and develop cutting-edge solutions in Dorset (UK).
